November 2016 Budget Report

Over Thanksgiving, our family spent 11 days with Kyle’s parents in southern California. It was a wonderful and restful trip. Kyle had to use or lose a bunch of vacation days so we planned a long Thanksgiving trip and a long Christmas trip. After paying for our flights for both of those trips this month, it was a wonderful break to be hosted by Kyle’s parents and have all of our food and so forth … Read entire article »

Lots of updates this week as I skipped this post last Sunday!   1)  Last weekend we were at my parents’ place for Thanksgiving, which was a great visit as usual.  The spectacular point was my 10-year high school reunion.  It was wonderful to spend time with so many friends and acquaintances, some of whom I still have active relationships with and some of whom I haven’t seen in 10 years!  Several people told me that they … Read entire article »

Money from Budgets Are Sexy asks his readers eight in-dept questions about how they are doing now in comparison with four years ago.   Jordann from My Alternate Life squares her consumerist tendencies with her minimalist lifestyle.   Daisy from When Life Gives You Lemons reveals how she accomplishes so … Read entire article »

Winter 2012 Travel Plans

Winter 2012 Travel Plans

Last night Kyle and I booked our Christmas flights!  Against my wishes, we have fallen into an every-other-year visitation pattern with our parents regarding Christmas, and this is a California year.  I’ve been checking prices for about six weeks and the prices were far higher than I expected.  I always strive to buy cross-country flights for around $400 but they were around $550-600.   Finally last night we were able to score flights for under $400 by … Read entire article »
