Blog Statistics Update July – August 2014

This period represents EPF’s return to LIFE (and mine, too!).  Really just about the last week of this period.  So of course I didn’t put up as many posts or received as many comments as before my hiatus, but that’s fine.  Things are coming back full force!

I also bought my flight to FinCon14 this month!  I also booked a room at the Marriott at the conference rate (I thought they were all booked up so I’m relieved I got one!) and am now looking for a female roommate, so if you want to room share with me or know someone who might please leave a comment or email me.  🙂  (That was after August 15th though so the charge doesn’t appear in the balance sheet section below.)

affiliate income: $0

Expenses

flight to FinCon14: $352.20

That’s a pretty sweet uptake in traffic just over the last little bit. I’m not going to FinCon… maybe next year. My biggest thing I am working on is making graphics that are worth “pin-ing” (I’ve wandered into the world of pinterest sharing for my blog). So that will take a bit of time.

That is a good goal and one that I would share if I even knew how to articulate it! I am not on Pinterest in any capacity…

  2. I am going to Fincon and look forward to meeting you!! I am thinking about a blog re-design this fall, but I have a few other priority projects ahead of it, so it may be a first quarter 2015 event.

Yay, yes I hope we do meet there! We have blog redesign work to do as well but we’re struggling with what to outsource and what to do in-house (i.e. Kyle).

I’m not going to Fincon this year, but I’m glad you get to. It’s a really fun and motivating experience.

Do you have any tips from last year on how to get the most out of the conference?

  4. It’s pretty crazy how quickly activity (or inactivity) on the blog affects the numbers. Definitely not passive.

I have been surprised by the baseline of traffic I received when I was pretty inactive, but now I’m really trying to get those numbers up.

  5. Welcome back to the blogging grind Emily! I will be in FinCon and am happy to meet everyone I can. My wife will be roaming New Orleans while I am at the conference. I have a lot of plans for the blog and thought briefly about another redesign. Who knows.

Grayson, it does NOT feel like a grind in comparison with my recent work!! I’m so happy to be back! That is great that both you and your wife will get to enjoy New Orleans – I’m sure you’ll have tons to talk about for days following the trip. I hope to see you at FinCon!
