I’m a little bitter about work this week!  I worked over 12 hours on Monday so that I could really front-load everything so that I wouldn’t have to work this weekend.  But on Friday I was notified that I was to give lab meeting on Monday, so it turns out I have lots of work to do this weekend after all!  Kyle is also giving lab meeting tomorrow so we’re both alternately working and procrastinating.

The reason I wanted to have all my work done before the weekend was that we had two parties to attend, as well as helping a friend move and cleaning our townhouse to host a third party.  We still did all that stuff but this weekend still hasn’t been as relaxing as I had hoped it would be.  Three potlucks (including one hosting) is a lot of cooking – we brought roasted Brussels sprouts to one and deviled eggs to another and made hamburgers, brats, beans, corn, and strawberries for the one we hosted.

Even though I hate Bank of America, I have to give them props this week.  Kyle’s checking account has been under threat of rolling from a student account to a normal one (that they charge for) for months now.  Finally, this week, we were hit with our first monthly account fee of $12.  Kyle finally called them up to change the account from a full-service one to ATM-only and they waived the $12 fee.  So BoA did something nice for us after doing something jerky, leaving the situation neutral… Pretty good for them!

Oh man, that’s such a bummer when you find out you have to work on the weekend. I’ve spent a good chunk of this weekend working on a project inside so I know how you feel :/

Thanks for the mention in your post!

I like having people over regularly because our house stays relatively clean. 🙂 The longer we go between parties the longer the cleaning takes!

Oh, I just stuffed everything from the living room into the second bedroom and closed the door… That room kind of collects all my random stuff. Oops!

That’s what we do with our bedroom and the office to some extent, but our bedroom is pretty straight at the moment because of the plumber having to go up!
