Business Goal Tracking for Week 6 of 2022

In February 2022, I set three overall monthly goals and three weekly habits to help me meet my revenue and workshop enrollment goals for 2022. This is my accountability report for how I did against these goals between 2/5/2022 and 2/11/2022.

  1. Publish the postdoc version of my annual tax return workshop
  2. Create lead magnet and sales page for prospective grad student webinar
  3. Consider how to expand tax products this tax season

February Weekly Goals

  1. Stay on top of all communications with university clients, including creating workshop copies and financials
  2. Write and schedule promotional emails and Tweets for tax workshops
  3. Devote two hours to professional development

Week Overall

I know I sound like a broken record, but… I thought this week that we would be back to a regular childcare schedule, and at the start of the week, we were. But then DPR2’s preschool closed again! They were only open for three days between these two closures. So the week started off normally and transitioned to triaging work time later in the week. I still got a good amount of work done, but not as much as I had hoped on the lower priorities.

Monthly Goal 1: Publish the postdoc version of my annual tax return workshop

I actually accomplished this! It’s done! I worked on it a bit last week and a lot this week. It really became my top priority because of the live Q&A call I’m hosting on 2/13/2022. The workshop was requested by two institutional clients, so I got them their copies of the workshop and the sign-up pages as well.

Monthly Goal 2: Create lead magnet and sales page for prospective grad student webinar

I started working on this early in the week, but then deprioritized it in favor of the postdoc workshop once my time became more squeezed. However, I have a deadline coming up for this on Monday, so I’ll need to do quite a bit on it over the weekend.

Monthly Goal 3: Consider how to expand tax products this tax season

I didn’t work on this at all, but now that the postdoc workshop is done, I can start on it next week.

Weekly Goal 1: Stay on top of all communications with university clients, including creating workshop copies and financials

I did a good job with this! I even did a Friday sweep of my inbox. I also pinged the client who hasn’t paid me yet for an event we did last year.

Weekly Goal 2: Write and schedule promotional emails and Tweets for tax workshops

I fulfilled this habit this week very well. I almost missed writing and scheduling one promotional email, but I fit it in at the last minute. I’m glad I did, because it got a great response!

Weekly Goal 3: Devote two hours to professional development

As with monthly goal 2, I started off the week devoting some time to professional development, but I dropped later in the week.

  • Advertising — 0.52%
  • Community membership + tax workshop sales (individual) — 1.06%
  • Public speaking — 2.47%
  • Sum — 4.06%

Cumulative Workshop Enrollment to Date (5,000 is “Best” goal): 519

I’m 10% of the way to my goal—whoohoo! Enrollment increased by over 200 this week.
