We are keeping our nose to the grindstones this week so there wasn’t much time for extracurriculars.  A certain someone has started writing his dissertation and has a tight deadline so I’m being supportive/expressing solidarity by working at most of the same times he is (well, when those times are before midnight – that is my bedtime!).

We have switched from attending church at 11:00 AM on Sundays to 4:00 PM on Saturdays – well, we’re trying to commit to the switch.  It’s a little weird to change our weekend routine, but I’m happy to have the Sunday mornings free.  Anyone else attend church on Saturdays?

Oh!   We spent $180 this week!  On tickets to my 10-year high school reunion!  I’m so excited!  I got to see a bunch of my closer HS friends at a wedding last spring and it was amazing and I’m so looking forward to seeing them and many others.  I hope the attendance rate is high.  It’s over Thanksgiving weekend so we don’t even need to change our travel plans as we have gone to my parents’ place for Thanksgiving since we’ve been living on the east coast.  Any HS friends who are lurking who want to come out of the woodwork and let me know you will or won’t be attending the reunion?

dojo weighed in with her comments on the 3 to 6 month emergency fund: “Not even 12 months of income saved would make me truly relaxed, but 3-6 is a good starting point. Many people are currently with NO emergency funds and this is not OK at all. So we need to do some calculations and start saving, since you never know what might happen.”

  1. Church on Saturdays? Not sure why I find that a bit odd. There is something just fresh and holy about sunday mornings…the very air smells sacred (just saying) 🙂
Anyway, I guess one can worship on any day as long as they are committed to it and observe it consistently.
And there I am, made it to your list of top commenters…yaay. (secret: I enjoy your writing and ideas!)

Yeah, it’s a bit weird, especially considering the significance of the early church switching their day of worship to Sunday.

Thanks for the compliment and keep the comments coming!

I like that we can go out to dinner with our friends after church instead of lunch. 🙂
