Oh, Look at That…
… EPF’s Alexa Rank went below 200,000 today!
When I wrote about joining the Yakezie Challenge I relayed that the objective of the first six-month period (the challenge) is to get the Alexa Rank below 200,000. (The next challenge is 100,000.) We put up our first post on 11/21/2011, joined Yakezie on 2/7/2012, and achieved a sub-200,000 ranking on 4/10/2012. Pretty sweet! Our rank dropped quickly because many of the visitors to this site are Yakezie members who have the Alexa toolbar installed on their browsers, which is how Alexa keeps track of traffic.
Just so I don’t get a swelled head, here are some of EPF’s other rankings as of today:
Google pagerank: 1
mozRank: 3.58

I kept them myself. Not sure if they’re available elsewhere.
Thats great progress Emily. You might make it to under 100k before the challenge is over!
Congrats! Keep up the great writing!

Haha, yep, the second my Alexa ticked below 200,000 I received an email with a supersecret password that let me in to Atlantis!
I never even thought to record my Alexa ranking over time! I started at 20 million and dropped about 1-2 million a day over the first few weeks. Just a few days ago, I dropped dropped below 1,000,000. Can’t wait to get to 200,000 – thanks for the motivation!

I think I’m going to keep tracking – I’d like to see the slope between 200,000 and 100,000 (if we get there).
Congratulations. That is a great graph that you have been maintaining. Best wishes getting to 100,000.

[…] I started Cash Rebel back in October 2012, but I didn’t really have a goal or a purpose until I joined the Yakezie challenge on February 7th, 2013. At that time, my Alexa ranking (a measure of website popularity) was up at 2,086,543 (lower is better ). As of the writing of this post, I’m sitting at 198,006. Check out the graph I made of my Alexa ranking over time (credit for the tracking idea goes to Emily at EvolvingPF). […]
