demonstrating power chords during an impromptu Thanksgiving jam session

It’s been three weeks since my last update but not a whole lot has gone on for us. Thanksgiving travel kind of dominated the period. Financial Peace University ended so I’m currently without a volunteering gig. Basketball season has been heating up – I’ve been to several games and we hosted one watch party. Kyle and I have had two meetings with a Personal Capital representative – more on that soon. 😉 Oh, and I got a job and decided to move in with my parents. I’ve been working hard on my goals, though! Nothing like a deadline (my work start date) to get me in gear.

Ben Luthi from The Wealth Gospel reflected on his post-college situation in You Must Try with Your Finances. What’s the Alternative?: “When I was unemployed after graduation, there were so many times when I just wanted to give up and resign myself to the fact that I was stuck. But when I decided to make it my challenge instead of my circumstance, I was able to create something else that solved my income and self-esteem problems.”

I plan to write at least one post about being pitched their investment services. It’s been interesting! I was totally thinking that we are too early-stage to turn our investments over but they are really effective at selling…
